Chapter 2:Chapter 1

No, to be more precise, I have no substance at all! I realized that all my actions seemed to be mimicking this person in front of me who looked exactly like me!

"What have you done to me? Why can't I control my body and limbs?"

"You are completely under my control now. You can only imitate everything I do! Because, you're just my shadow now!"

"What? I'm your shadow? Are you kidding me?"

He just gave a faint smile and then squatted down to start changing his shoes.

My body and limbs moved uncontrollably, mirroring his every action. Part of my form was cast on the wall, while another part was on the ground, making my whole figure look twisted and grotesque.

I still had my sight, hearing, smell, and even touch. Yet I lacked one thing—substance!

Could it be that I've really become a shadow? And a shadow that possesses all sensory perceptions and consciousness?

"Do you believe it now? You are my shadow!"

I forced myself to stay calm and asked him, "Why did this happen? I was fine before I went to bed. How did I wake up as a shadow? And who are you?"

He had finished changing his shoes, got up, and sat on the bed. He looked at me on the floor and said, "Originally, I was your shadow. We just swapped identities. Now I've become the main body, and you're the shadow. It's that simple!"

"Why did we swap identities? Can we switch back?"

He laughed deeply, "What, you've been the main body for over twenty years, and I've been content to be your shadow all this time. We've only swapped for a little while, and you're already unhappy?"

"It's not that I'm unhappy, I'm just not used to this! Let's switch back!"

He shook his head, "No rush, no rush, let me take care of something first, and we'll talk about it when I get back!"

As he spoke, he took a black baseball cap and a black mask from the closet, putting them on his head and face. Then he found a pair of gloves and shoe covers in the drawer and stuffed them into his pocket.

I glanced at the clock on the wall and said, "You're going out? It's two in the morning. What are you going to do?"

"You'll know once I'm there!"

With that, he headed straight for the door. He turned off the lights in the room, opened the door, and left.
