Chapter 2:Chapter 1

I am truly a momma's girl, sharing every little thing with my mom. Today, I had an incredibly delicious egg tart. I took a selfie with the half-eaten egg tart and sent it to my mom.

"This egg tart is amazing!"

She replied almost instantly, "Penelope Ingram?"

I felt a pang of grievance. "I haven't texted you for just two days and you're already so cold to me? Calling me by my full name!"

"Call me baby!"

"No, call me darling baby!"

There was a three-minute pause. "Are you sure about this?"

"We're this close and you're asking if I'm sure?"

Another three-minute pause. "Darling... baby."

I replied with a cat emoji shaking its butt. "That's more like it!"

My roommate called from below my bed, "Penelope Ingram, come down and see if my new dress looks good!"

I pulled back the bed curtain and saw my roommate, Zoe Harrison, twirling in front of the mirror in a pink slip dress.

"I must've gained weight recently! It used to fit perfectly in a size M!"

"You're slim, Penelope. Why don't you try it on? If it fits you, I won't return it."

I rolled off the bed. "Yes, your majesty."

"But if it fits me, will you give it to me?"

Zoe gave me a look. "In your dreams, you'd have to pay!"

After putting on the dress, it fit perfectly. The color was right, the size was right, like it was tailored just for me.

I winked at Zoe. "Come on, do you have a secret crush on me?"

She ignored me, just held up two fingers. "Two hundred bucks."

I checked my WeChat balance. Only eight hundred left, and it's only halfway through the month.

So, I took a mirror selfie in the pink dress and sent it to my mom. Being a momma's girl means when in doubt, ask mom.

I sent her a voice message, "How do you like my new dress?"

My mom replied instantly, "It's nice, suits you well."

I sent another voice message, whining, "But I'm short on cash... Can I advance two hundred?"
